Information on Insurance
Included in the annual subscription for all playing members (i.e. men, ladies, seniors, honorary and life members, country and corporate members, Intermediates and juniors) is cover, whilst playing golf, for personal liability, personal accident, death, loss of limb(s) or eye(s), or total disablement, on Whalley golf course, principally, but also on any course in the U.K. and even world-wide (up to a limit of 120 days in any one insurance period) subject to any judgement/award not being made in any country operating under U.S.A. or Canadian laws. Playing away from Whalley G.C. is thus covered for most situations.
Even though no green fee is payable, visiting team members are also covered at Whalley in official team matches at any level. Guests paying green fees and visiting golfers paying green fees are also covered while playing at Whalley G.C.
What is not covered, for all players in any category, are personal items such as golf clubs.
Major provisos are that all claims of any kind must be reported in writing within 14 days to the insurers (GOLFGUARD Ltd)., and there is no liability accepted for any claim unless action for damages etc. against the insured person is in a Court of Law within the U.K.
For members’ interest the full insurance schedules are posted on the main notice-board at the club entrance. This insurance is effected through GOLFGUARD Ltd., P.O. Box 270, East Grinstead, West Sussex RH19 3WP (Tel: 01342 318368), and is purchased through our brokers, Owen and Ewing, of Oswaldtwistle (tel: 01254 393417) who would be most willing to help members with any further aspects of insurance e.g. house, contents, car, travel, commercial and liability insurance.
NOTE – Individuals have a personal responsibility of reasonable care on the course and in the clubhouse with respect to their own and other’s safety.
